CLUB NEWSLETTER
Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter, the club is trading well recording solid profits for each of the last four months thanks to good weather, dedicated staff across the board and member’s support.
Membership numbers are strong:
- Male membership is up 7.27% from the 2022 subscription numbers putting us back on par with 2020 & 2021 numbers.
- Female membership is up slightly 2.04% from the 2022 subscription numbers with only 2021 membership numbers stronger than 2022/23. The good news is we are continuing to trend upwards growing 14.5% over the past 10 years.
- Junior golf membership numbers are up 51.43% from the 2022 subscription numbers and showing 112% growth over the past 10 years.
- Bowling membership is also showing growth up 5.5% slowly climbing back to numbers seen in 2021.
- Social membership numbers are also up 12.6% however we are still lagging behind pre-pandemic numbers by 42.5%
With facilities continuing to be upgraded and the club trading ahead of the YTD budget my expectation is that we will continue to see strong membership numbers and strong growth in social membership.

Bowling News – Joel Roche
Hi Members, What a crazy start to our new year it has been, over the last 2 months we have had District games, Ladies Invitation Days, a new game concept introduced in the Club Challenge, and last but not least, the start of our Pennants season. Coaching on a Wednesdays has temporarily ceased until the midweek tournament is completed around late April. Our 2 teams that are currently playing are our 4 and 6 grades both having mixed results on the green so far. The 4 Grade have a win and a loss after 2 rounds, and the 6 Grade with 2 masterboard draws after a total of 63 ends. Our 1 Grade kicks off on the 1st of April at home to Charlestown and will play 4 double header weekends. Our District Senior 4’s side of Grant Seal, Robert Pinfold, Bill Wiltshire and John Gregory will be looking to gain our first male district title in quite a long time when they play the final on Sunday the 12th of March 10am at Soldiers Point. I will be driving the club bus to take supporters up to watch the boys and the Men’s Bowls committee has also hired a 19 seater, We have had a great response with the 19 seater already filled and seats going fast. Date to Remember – 15th of April – we are lucky enough for our 1 Grade to have the opportunity to watch Australia’s Number 1 player Aaron Sheriff who will be coming to play at our club during the 1 Grade Pennants. They will also be able to watch another of Australia’s best – World Singles Champion Lee Schraner also when our team play Raymond Terrace. Good Luck and Good Bowling to all. |
Beverage Pricing Review – Takeaway & In HouseThe law indexes the excise duty rates for alcohol twice a year, based on the upward movement of the consumer price index (CPI). Generally, indexation occurs on 1 February and 1 August. However, we have reviewed our takeaway pricing to be more competitive with the market reducing over 80% of the selection for packaged beverage takeaways. As a result, there will be random bag, buggy, and cart checks to ensure members respect the club’s policy and licensing laws and DO NOT bring alcohol onto the site or it WILL BE confiscated. For the pricing to remain member support is essential. |

Draught Beer Pricing ReviewThe sale price of draught beer however will see a moderate increase given costs have risen on average above 4% with some increasing as much as 6% in addition to increases in electricity, gas, and wages. |

Pariter – Belmont Golf & Bowls Update |
![]() |
Pariter has commenced a Due Diligence process with regard to the potential development opportunity with the Club. They are currently undertaking Part A – Site Viability to assess the developable area and verify the viability of potential site usages. This stage is expected to take approximately 3 months. The Board wishes to advise all members that there is no agreement between the Board and Pariter for anything other than for them to carry out this Due Diligence process. Contrary to certain rumours that have surfaced recently, there is no agreement for any specific development or any other proposal. It will not be known by either party as to whether there may be a viable project until after the Due Diligence has been completed. If the project is deemed viable, a Concept Master Plan will be developed and will be put to members for approval before any agreements or contracts are signed by the Board. The next Member Information Night is expected to be in April when members can hear the results to date and raise any questions or concerns they may have. Members will be informed once a date is confirmed. |
Driving Range UpdateWe have prioritised the installation of new poles and netting on the driving range to protect both the bowling complex and the carpark. Unfortunately, the wire on the large net that protected the front of the southern green snapped in the center and split the net in half. Two new nets will be installed allowing for the removal of most if not all of the poles and netting that currently exist on the eastern side to improve both safety and aesthetics. If possible poles and netting that are removed will be repurposed to other areas of the driving range. |
Gaming RoomWe are excited to announce an upgrade will be completed to the gaming room and machines to support those members and guests that like a flutter on the pokies. |
17a TifEagle17a is open for practice and will be put into play sometime this month to allow members to experience the TifEagle playing surface. This will also allow for the 16th hole to be taken out of play for maintenance to be carried out on the exit from the 16th green complex. |
