Bowls Update – Joel RocheIn November, our ladies had their Twilight Invitation Day which was a very successful day with over 120 ladies. We also had our Ladies District Triples Champions win the regional playoff for a spot at the State Championships in March at Dubbo. The side was Di Stockwell, Kerry Malligan and Rose Wayland. We are so very proud of our ladies and wish them all the best at State in March. Our Fours Champions were beaten in the regional playoff but a huge effort for them to win the District Title showing that Belmont women are still some of the very best around. Our men have been soaring through club games in the last few months. Our Triples and Pairs Championships were decided with Rob Lauridsen, figuring in both disciplines winning both events with his team mates. Our Three Threes side was victorious in taking out the District Title in Division 2. We have been competing in the pre season 1 grade tournament at Beresfield recently, and although coming away with a couple of defeats, we have been extremely competitive and again gives great hope for the new Pennant season approaching. Our Club will host the Newcastle Junior Championship on the 23, 24 and 25 January 2024. We are also holding our Australia Day Carnival on Friday 26 January 2024. On Friday 9 February 2024, we have our newly introduced shield match against Charlestown which will be played annually at Belmont. If any of our Members are interested in bowling lessons, please contact our Bowling Co-Ordinator Joel Roche. |
Valentines Day Menu – $69 Per Person
Lake Macquarie Cup & Belmont Seniors EventCongratulations to all our Golfers who competed in the Lake Macquarie Cup on Sunday, 14 January 2024 and the Belmont Seniors Event on Monday, 15 January 2024. Belmont really showed how hard the course can be with both events impacted by nature. Rain on Sunday made it a little uncomfortable but the southeasterly and strong wind gusts on Monday really caused havoc with some. The Ladies Champion for the Lake Macquarie Cup is Karen Brown from Coffs Harbour Golf Club and the Men’s Champion is Matthew Kirkwood from Nelsons Bay Golf Club. The Ladies Champion for the Belmont Seniors Event is Gemma Dooley from New South Wales Golf Club and the Men’s Champion is Rodney Smylie from Pacific Dunes Golf Club. Amazing effort to all our Members and Guests. |
