Mixed Foursome Championships

The Mixed Foursome Championships was held on Sunday 24 September, in perfect conditions. The scratch winner of the 27-hole event with a score of 124 was Julie McCallum and Mark Littlewood. The runners up and further two shots behind were ladies captain Sharan Bowers who partnered with her son Scott Bowers.

The nett competition was highly competitive with Janette Neal and Robert Toby with a score of 107.75. Local residents Lyn Hitchcock and Guy Hitchcock, unlucky runners up on 109.50. Nearest the pin was won by Sue Oliver and Michael Haynes on the 13th hole and Jen Powers and Stuart MacAskill on the 16th.

Thank you to our caterers, Chop & Chew for serving breakfast from 7am and having pizzas available in the afternoon, earning rave reviews from the players. Your hard work is appreciated.

Bowls Update – Joel Roche

It is 3 months into our new season and we are extremely busy. District games, Ladies Pennants, Three Threes, and Club Championships. We are now hitting warmer weather so barefoot bowls will take a steep incline on weekends and for Christmas parties.

We have recently had some great district success with our ladies winning the District Fours and District Triples and also runner-up in the District Senior Fours.

In the men, we had a side make the Quarter Finals of the Senior District Fours.

How lucky are we to have 3 NSW REP players in our club. Robert Pinfold and Bill Wiltshire competed in the interstate series in Tasmania, collecting a silver medal and runner up at national level.

Also, congratulations to Kerry Malligan (NSW State O/40’s Rep), a massive achievement. I believe this is the second time Kerry has achieved this position.

Good luck to our Ladies Pennants team who will be competing in their final game next Thursday 5 October. We wish you all the best and know you will do great!

We are building a great winning culture within our club and it is great to see our players being rewarded.

Driving Range

Now that we are in Daylight Savings mode, the operating hours of the driving range have changed to allow members a greater opportunity to practice.

The closing time has been moved back to 6pm with last balls to be sold at 5:30pm. Enjoy your practice!

We have been experiencing issues with some people not observing the rules when using the driving range (particularly on weekends). If any members would be interested in supervising the Driving Range on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, please advise our office staff.
