General Manager’s Update
The Greens & Match Committee, in consultation with Golf Course Architect James Wilcher, has made some recommendations that have been endorsed by The Board with the details for the scope of work noted below.
The result for shots that went over the back left-hand side of the 16th green was deemed to be too penal with Earthworks ensuring a more receptive shape to reduce the chance of balls running onto the cart path. The exit path area now provides the opportunity to rotate traffic more efficiently reducing the wear.

Blue Drop Stake
Balls that come to rest on the newly laid turf area can take free relief within one club length of the blue drop stake.
Imagine the blue stake is the centre of a circle and you may drop the ball anywhere in that circle including in front of the stake.
Relief may be taken in the drop zone even if it is closer to the hole.
5th Hole Closed For Maintenance & Upgrade
The teeing ground on the 5th hole will be re-surfaced and enlarged improving wear and the angle into the green complex allowing players to tee their ball farther to the right-hand side.
The drainage in the swale short of the green will be upgraded to reduce the potential for surface water to be trapped draining the water towards the highway and south behind the back tee on the 6th hole.
The large bunker on the right-hand side of the green complex will be reduced in size as part of the recommendation from the Greens & Match Committee, endorsed by James Wilcher. The planned scope of work will reduce maintenance costs and improve playability.
We currently have 67 bunkers including those on the practice greens with a plan to reduce this number while also reducing the size of some of the larger bunkers and lifting others out of the water table where possible. This will remove the potential for any new sand to become contaminated after a heavy rain event.
Any turf that has been removed from the 5th tee that is in good condition will be repurposed to areas on the 9th fairway where turf quality is poor or tree roots are exposed.
SCORECARD: While the 5th hole is closed please put your score for 17b into the cell for the 5th hole.
