BELMONT GOLF CLUB

One of Lake Macquarie's best known attractions is Belmont Golf Club, situated on the isthmus between the lake and the Pacific Ocean.

Belmont Golf Club is an 18 hole par 72 championship links course set amongst rolling green fairways and trees with many of the fairways having the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop.

First opened in 1952, the course has over the years been continually improved to meet the playing expectations of golfers of all levels.

The club is home to the prestigious Greater Building Society Lake Macquarie Lady and Mens' Amateur Championships held in January each year.

The scoreboard is updated daily during the tournament with full scores provided overnight by the NSW Golf Association.

LAKE MACQUARIE INTERNATIONAL

AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

The prestigous Greater Building Society Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship, a 72 hole tournament involving the best amateur players from around the world, is to be conducted at Belmont Golf Club from January 2009. 

New Zealander, Danny Lee, won the 2008 tournament and he joined a long list of renown golfers which includes Geoff Ogilvy, Vijay Singh, Michael Campbell and Mark O'Meara, who all played in the tournament during their amateur careers.  Danny's dedication and commitment to golf has continued to be rewarded when he recently won the United States Amateur Championship.  We extend our congratulations to Danny on this great achievement.

The upcoming 2009 Greater Building Society Lake Macquarie International Amateur Championship is open to both men and women with the relevant dates for each tournament as follows:
